what makes shyft instructors stand out?
Our Pilates instructors are highly trained to ensure they provide safe, effective, and personalized instruction. The 450-hour minimum certification includes comprehensive education in anatomy, injury modifications, and understanding of movement patterns. Many instructors choose to further their expertise with additional certifications, such as pre/postnatal, etc., enhancing their ability to work with diverse populations. Continuing education is a cornerstone of the profession, keeping instructors updated on the latest techniques and best practices. Those pursing a fully comprehensive certification (our Teacher Trainees) are held to the same rigorous standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all levels of instruction.
how do i sign up for a class?
Head here to register an account with us. We strongly recommend doing this on the desktop version as MINDBODY App does not sync up to our studio. Even if you have a MINDBODY account on the App or with another studio, you will still need to create one for ours and sign our liability waiver.
if i’m new to pilates, which class should i take?
Most of our classes are designed to be mixed level, catering to everyone at any stage of their Pilates journey. We provide cues that guide you from beginner to advanced levels, allowing you to choose what feels best for your body. This approach ensures that beginners feel welcomed and supported, while still offering intermediate and advanced options for those who are ready. Additionally, our intermediate and advanced clients have the flexibility to select beginner modifications or adjust to their needs during each class.
If you are wishing to take a more beginner class option or move at a more gentle pace, our SUPPORT class is a great option! Additionally, we always recommend taking a private session or three to get comfortable on the Reformer, understanding of Pilates, modifications for your body and answering any questions one on one with an instructor.
what should i wear to class?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and feel at ease. Fitted workout attire is recommended, as it helps instructors provide better guidance on your form, but choose whatever makes you feel most comfortable and confident. Grip socks are required starting July 1, 2025 to all classes.
do i need to bring anything to class?
We provide everything you need, including mats for all of our Mat classes. While we're waiting for our new water bottle filler to be installed, we recommend bringing a filled water bottle to class just in case. We also have small bottled waters available in the studio.
what is your cancellation policy?
To receive a full credit to your package or membership, cancellations must be made through MINDBODY at least 12 hours before the scheduled class. Cancellations made within 12 hours of class will result in forfeited credit. All no-shows will incur a $20 fee. For Grandfathered Unlimited Members, a late cancellation will be charged a $15 fee, and a no-show will result in a $20 fee.
what is your waitlist policy?
If a class is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist for a chance to get in. Should a spot open up, you will be notified via text and/or email if you are moved off the waitlist and into the class.
If you don’t secure a spot, your class credit will remain in your account, ready to be used for a future class.
am i able to do pilates while pregnant?
Absolutely, with a few thoughtful adjustments! If you're new to Pilates, we highly recommend booking a Private Session before joining group classes to ensure a comfortable start. Please let us know if you're expecting so we can make the best recommendations for you.
As always, we encourage you to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise routine during pregnancy, to ensure you're set for a safe and enjoyable experience!
what is your refund policy?
All sales are final. Please review your cart carefully before completing your purchase. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for any products or services.
